Aileen Mc Gee
Some of you may well be acquainted with Aileen’s published work on dealing constructively with the challenges and opportunities created in the context of family life and social integration arising from having an autistic child / teenager. Her two books ‘A World of Our Own’ and ‘A Life of Our Own’ chronicle the steep learning curve Aileen herself, her family and her friends have travelled in dealing intimately with autism in the family. By popular demand, during the coming months Aileen will offer an eight week workshop at Tara entitled ‘Empowerment through Self Care’.
You may well be among those who participated in one or other of the two very successful workshops offered by Aileen at this Centre in recent months.
The emphasis in this workshop is not primarily on the challenge of autism, but rather on the entire spectrum of challenges life presents us with in the cut and thrust of everyday living, thus providing an appeal to a wider audience.
In the course, Aileen describes the tools and strategies you can use to create a positive life, embrace change and develop your own self care programme while caring for others. Course participants will be encouraged and empowered to deal with the challenges of everyday life. Aileen cautions ‘Don’t let uncertainties and challenges weigh you down. Learn how YOU can empower YOUR life’.
