Elisabeth Goell entertains an enthralled Tara Centre audience with ‘Tales of a Travelled Piano’

Elisabeth Goell (pictured left) receiving flowers from Marian Harte (Treasurer, Tara Centre) as a token of appreciation for her wonderful evening of music, history and story-telling at the Tara Centre, on Friday 17th February, 2017.

The performance was based on Elisabeth’s book ‘Tales of a Travelled Piano’, following the adventures of a German piano from the household of Clara Schumann into its adoptive country, during one of Ireland’s most difficult periods in history.  ‘The Piano’ extended an invitation to take a fresh look at how Ireland remembers its musical heritage, raising a voice for peace and reconciliation with the various cultural and historical roots that have co-existed on the island of Ireland.
Elisabeth very kindly gifted her time for this event, with all proceeds contributing towards the Tara Centre’s longer term sustainability.
