A Guided Tour of Historical Inishowen Peninsula – A Deeper Understanding of Shared History

During this full day tour, there will be visits to:
- The unspoilt Inishowen Peninsula of North Donegal;
- The spectacular fortress of An Grianan (‘The Sun Palace’) to recall the ancient kings of Ulster and enjoy panoramic views of Inishowen and the Maiden city;
- Burt Castle with its dark history;
- Fort Dunree on Lough Swilly and its associations with Wolfe Tone, the 1798 Rebellion and the Great War;
- The Famine Museum at Doagh Island to recall the Great Famine;
- Carndonagh with its early Christian crosses;
- Greencastle with its Norman Castle.
(Some moderate walking will be involved so please come prepared.)
