February 2021 Update from Tara Centre

Dear Friend of Tara

I hope you remain safe and healthy since I last wrote to you before Christmas 2020. It is quite incredible that we now find ourselves moving swiftly towards the end of February 2021. It is hard to believe that it is almost a year since Covid-19 came to our shores and impacted all our lives, some unfortunately more than others. Indeed, it has been a bit of a rollercoaster with restrictions and lockdowns among other things and life has been very different in many ways for all of us. However, the landscape is changing and moving in a positive direction with the arrival of vaccines which will hopefully allow us to get back to some sense of normality over time.

Here at Tara, we continue to provide counselling/psychotherapy albeit predominantly by telephone. For a short period, we were able to provide Art Therapy but this service, unfortunately, has been suspended since the beginning of January 2021. We are hopeful that we will resume this service in the not so distant future. Lockdown has of course had a huge impact on our ability to run our normal programmes here at Tara which you all support and enjoy. Many of you joined us for the Christmas Meditation by Zoom and reported how much you appreciated it. Maura and Mary had plans to provide further ZOOM assisted ‘Meditating Together’ opportunities in the New Year. Personal circumstances have delayed the timing of this but they hope to act on it in the month of March.

It remains our intention to open our doors and invite you all back into the Tara Centre as soon as it is safe to do so. Indications to date are that this is not possible in the short term and it may be little longer before we can do so.

However, I am happy to confirm that we are offering three ZOOM programmes during the months of March. You will be familiar with the Presenters – Jim Cogley (2nd March), Declan Coyle (8th March) and Dr Aileen O’Kane (15th March) all of whom you will have met at one time or another down through the years at Tara. We are delighted that they have agreed to work with us on bringing you three short programmes designed to provide positive, uplifting and thoughtful insights and experiences. There is something for everyone in their presentations. I have attached an outline of the programmes and the relevant times etc. Please ensure you email reception@taraomagh.com to secure a place. You are most welcome to join us for as many of these programmes as you wish so please state which of them you would like to ZOOM with us. We have been fortunate to receive funding for these Programmes from VSS and are able to offer them free of charge.

On behalf of everyone at Tara, I would like to invite you to connect with us via ZOOM for our March 2021 programmes. We look forward to eventually being able to meet and greet you in person at the Tara Centre but, for the present, we look forward to connecting with you on ZOOM.

Sincere best wishes

Patricia McGlinn
