Over the years the phrase ”in the service of healing and peace” has emerged as the most accurate and succinct expression of what the Tara Centre is all about at the heart of the community.
More recently the focus has been further refined by use of the phrase “the soul of healing”.
Among the many factors in the Centre’s development which have contributed to its self-awareness and self-description as articulated above nothing has contributed more fundamentally than the inspirational and transformative seminars and workshops delivered at the Centre by Rosalyn Bruyere and Ken Weintrub.
We are delighted to announce the return of this remarkable duo to the Centre this Spring to deliver yet another seminar under the above title.
This will be a heart chakra seminar which is suited to dedicated healers who have at least a basic knowledge of the chakra system and its energy healing potential.
Speaking on this topic Rosalyn says “loss of conventional avenues of spiritual expression and understanding has left us bereft of the tools and wisdom needed for true heart health…. It’s time for healers to take another look at the amazing potential for healing inherent in a greater understanding of the heart chakra and this energy centre’s potential to transform everything in our life for the better.”

Family Tree Workshop – Intergenerational Healing

Many, if not most of us, have a desire to understand who we are in the light of our family tree.
Somewhere in us we have an awareness that healing can be brought, not just to ourselves, but also to other members of our family who share the same ‘family tree’.
The knowledge gained in this workshop will help participants not to allow the past to determine their future in ways that are unhealthy/ unhelpful. They will learn to free themselves from old scripts and bring healing to their lives and possibly to the lives of others who share their tree.
Jim Cogley has many years’ teaching experience and is a counselling supervisor. As a psychotherapist he trained in the Jungian tradition. His particular area of interest is that of Intergenerational Healing and how the past that is unacknowledged can still influence the present. As an artist with wood he presents his message using an astonishing range of personally crafted wood symbols to great effect.
Jim is a published author on the subject of this workshop.
Wood you Believe (Volume one), The Unfolding Self (Volume Two) and The Emerging Self are his first books to be published.
His new book, Exploring Your Ancestral Self, was published in October 2009. Copies of these books will be for sale at this workshop and are also in stock at the Tara Centre Bookshop.

The Inner Journey – Deepening the Shamanic Experience

On this workshop you will gather together in a safe and sacred community with like-hearted folk to experientially explore the inner realms of your soul’s landscape.
You will be supported by each other in making contact with the inner healer to help release past hurts and present painful conditions.
Together you will endeavour to expand your consciousness beyond the personal to the Transpersonal entering the world of imagination, fantasy and the dreamtime.
This course will combine lecture, video and experiential exercises as follows:

Irrespective of the unique circumstances of any of our lives we know that, sooner or later, we will experience hurt in some shape or form.
We also know that emotional/ psychological hurt, unhealed, can diminish and/or destroy the quality of life, not only for ourselves but for those with whom we come in contact most especially those who are nearest and dearest to us.
Here in post conflict Northern Ireland and the Border Counties, in addition to the pain which the “ordinary” stresses life can inflict, many have suffered deep psychological trauma caused by the impact of ‘the Troubles’ either directly or indirectly in their lives.
The Tara Centre operates from a deep conviction that “what hurts can heal” and also that in the healing process “one size does not fit all.” It is for this reason that the Centre offers a range of healing modalities
Storytelling is widely known to be a very effective instrument of healing. It is also a highly sensitive path to walk requiring skilled professional guidance to ensure that “pot holes” are avoided and solid ground remains underfoot at all times.
This storytelling workshop meets those basis criteria admirably. The workshop facilitators have many years’ experience of work with cross community women’s groups in South Armagh.
Suzi’s approach to storytelling is the use of beads to form bracelets which symbolically hold each participant’s story in an intimate and personal manner. The essential privacy of each one’s unique experience is respected in this way while a gentle group process releases a further healing energy for the benefit of all.
At the Centre here we are confident this workshop will suit a wide range of participants.

These one day intensives are specially designed to initiate and strengthen an integration of the groups who have attended Meditation Intensives and HECT Intensives at the Tara Centre in the past.
The structure and content of the Intensives are informed by the consultation process already carried out for this purpose.
The component parts will include:
- group meditation
- input and discussion on a relevant topic
- chi gong
- HECT healing treatments provided in the context of group meditation
- refreshments as appropriate.

More information: Most Spiritual traditions around the world from ancient to modern times have taught that Love is the energy that heals all. This Universal Love energy is at the Centre of all creation, it illuminates our pathway home to our true selves.
To connect to Love is to connect to the Source of who we truly are. All life is an expression of Love.
The heart is the Centre of our being that connects us to the universal heartbeat of creation.
In this workshop participants will learn how to open their hearts more, so they can experience and express the unconditional love that we were born to give and receive.
Participants will gather in a like-minded safe and open-hearted community to share this beautiful experience together.
Experiential exercises will be used as follows:
- heart centred meditation
- hemi-Sync – Sound, Imagery and Visualizations
- drum Journeying
- open hearted sharing of our experiences.
Martin brings warmth and compassion to his practice. He has strong values with regards integrity, honesty and openness, in particular he believes in empowering the individual to find healing, knowledge and wisdom within themselves.

THOUGHTFIELD THERAPY Basic Workshop

Thought Field Therapy, often referred to as TFT, or simply tapping, is a safe, noninvasive
and easily learned technique which can be used for the rapid and lasting relief
of many forms of emotional and psychological distress.
It was originally discovered and crafted by the distinguished American Clinical
Psychologist, Dr. Roger Callahan, as a treatment for phobias. It has since been expanded
to ease a wide variety of problems including stress and anxiety, panic attacks, grief,
trauma and anger. It became the treatment of choice in dealing with post traumatic
stress disorder (PTSD) in Kosovo.
The programme will be presented by Chris Milbank whose learning and qualifications
are internationally recognised. Chris trained in TFT therapy on foot of a personal
experience of the profound, lasting and uncomplicated power of TFT to heal a persistent
health condition of his own. Since then he has acquired many years experience as a
trainer in TFT and a number of other related healing techniques.
This Basic Workshop is suited to three categories of participants:
• persons who have no previous knowledge of TFT;
• persons who have some previous knowledge which they wish to update;
• persons who are qualified in other fields of complementary therapy and wish
to incorporate TFT into their complement of skills.

TAPAS ACUPRESSURE TECHNIQUE (TAT)

Tapas Acupressure Technique (TAT) is an easy to use tool for clearing emotional blockages quickly and effectively.
It is like Thought Field Therapy (TFT) and Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) in so far as it involves using the meridian pathways but it differs from those techniques by engaging all of the meridian energy pathways at the same time. It is found by many to be a more gentle technique.
Negative emotions, thought processes and beliefs as well as traumas and fears of many kinds have been successfully treated by the use of TAT. It can be safely and effectively used with children, adults and the elderly alike.
The weekend workshop is equally suited to beginners with no experience as to those who have training and practice in TFT, EFT and/or other meridian based healing techniques.
The weekend will be of a practical nature demonstrating the nine basic steps of TAT, using explanation, demonstration and providing opportunities to practice the technique.

THOUGHT FIELD THERAPY (TFT) – DIAGNOSTIC LEVEL

This 3 day workshop will refresh those of Algorithm Level TFT before moving on to the more advanced Diagnostic Level. It looks in depth at Psychological Reversal (the state that prevents a normally successful treatment from working) and teaches
During these 3 days of interactive, hands-on training and practice you will learn the following:
how to diagnose complex sequences of meridian points for treatment of emotional and health problems in the case where a normal TFT Algorithm does not clear the problem. • how to diagnose individual energy toxins i.e. certain food or drink groups
• how to diagnose a treatment to temporarily boost your body’s immune system
• how to help you work with some of the most complicated anxiety and health
If time permits, Chris will also introduce two therapies, at introduction level only, that work alongside TFT very well, namely Body Talk and TAT techniques, and demonstrate how they can help you in conjunction with TFT.
After the course Chris will be available by telephone or email to help with any questions you may have, or to give advice with complicated clients.
