You are welcome past the theshold of this "sacred place on the road of life" which we call Tara, Omagh. Whether you have wandered here through idle curiosity or know exactly what you want as you make your way through the open door, the welcome is the same: genuine, warm, sincere. And if you are familiar with the more ancient language of our people, we invite you to hear our words of welcome in that rich and vibrant tongue, Cead mile failte romhat isteach.

You will discover as you make a virtual tour through the centre that life is rich and varied here at Tara. We hope in particular that you will experiece one special characteristic of this Centre in a way that which cannot be mistaken: Tara is a safe place to be; safe to be you; safe to encounter others; safe to discover part of yourself and your life that no longer serve you well and can be left behind; safe to dare allow undreamt of gifts, talents, dreams for the future see the light of day so powerfully that Nelson Mandella's challenging prophetic words resound harmoniously in the depths of "your" soul.

Inaugural Speech by Nelson Mandella 1994

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.
Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light not our darkness that most frightens us.
We ask ourselves who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small doesn’t serve the world.
There is nothing enlightening about shrinking so that other people won’t
feel insecure around you.
We are born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.
It is not just in some of us it is in everyone.
As we let our light shine we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear our presence automatically liberates others."
