How to make a booking
COUNSELLING / PSYCHOTHERAPY AND ART THERAPY
Persons who seek a counselling / psychotherapy appointment are asked to leave their name (first name only is an option) and telephone number with the Receptionist for the attention of the Director of Counselling/Psychotherapy Services. No details regarding your counselling issue(s) of your request should be given at this stage.
The Director of Counselling/ Psychotherapy Services will return your call as soon as possible. She will note relevant data, give you an indication of the approximate length of time you will have to wait for an appointment, and assign an available relevant counsellor/psychotherapist to you. Your first appointment will be arranged by that therapist.
If yours is an emergency case, let the Receptionist know and it will be treated as such.
Cost: A sliding scale is in operation for payment for counselling/psychotherapy. Free places are offered to persons who qualify under the conditions of relevant available grants. Each case is dealt with individually in a process of consultation between the client and the assigned psychotherapist/counsellor.
Leaflets with further details available on request at Reception.
COMPLEMENTARY THERAPIES
Grant-Aided Appointments
From time to time the Tara Centre is successful in its application for grants for Complementary Therapy Treatments. This enables the Centre to offer a number of treatments at a reduced rate or free of charge to persons who satisfy the criteria of the relevant funding bodies.
The Receptionist will be aware of the availability or otherwise of complementary therapy grants at any given time and will make an appropriate application form available on request. The completed form will be passed on to the Centre Director whose responsibility it is to approve the application and arrange for you to receive the therapy of your choice as soon as a place becomes available.
Appointments on a fee-paying basis
When no grant is available or in the case of persons who do not meet the grant aid criteria, appointments can be arranged on a fee paying basis. A sliding scale with regard to these fees is negotiable with the Centre Director on request.
A special booklet on Complementary Therapies is available on request from Reception.
Cancellation Policy
A minimum of 36 hours notice is required for cancellation of an appointment. Failure to comply with this requirement will involve a cancellation fee of £15 for fee paying clients. Grant aided clients will forfeit one allocated treatment for failure to give adequate notice of cancellation. A “No-Show” practice on the part of the client will require a return to the waiting list for further appointments.
